Episode 180 of The Independent Characters comes right on the heels of Episode 179 and is set to destroy your ears with four hours of Warhammer 40,000 enjoyment! First we have an in-depth Hobby Progress section with lots of fantastic tangents! Then the fun really starts with our Show of Force covering The Thousand Sons. You knew Carl could talk a lot, but you didn’t know he talks even more when it is his favorite subject! We don’t know if you will want to play a Thousand Sons army after listening to this episode, but we are CERTAIN you will consider it time well spent. We hope you enjoy. Time Stamps:

Episode 179 of The Independent Characters brings you a somewhat silly episode. We were lucky enough to have three very special guests. Jason Mullins from the Sons of Heresy Podcast, Adam Fasoldt (Loopy) from the Masters of The Forge Podcast, and Robo Ed from Life After the Cover save! Since Carl had all three of these individuals at his house, he felt it would be a travesty not to record an episode with them! So here you go. You'll laugh. You'll cry. You'll kiss three buck goodbye! Time Stamps:

Episode 178 of The Independent Characters brings you about two and a half hours of fun, laughter, and Warhammer 40k. Not necessarily in that order. We have our usual Hobby Progress and Games Played section which goes on for quite awhile as we have three guests in studio. However, the conversation diverges here from time to time and we bring up some interesting points along the way. Then we launch into our Warrior Lodge Episode - where we have a moderated discussion about several topics close to us personally and gathered from the ICs Facebook Group and larger Warhammer 40k Community. We hope you enjoy the show! Time Stamps:

Episode 176 of The Independent Characters is finally here! We bring you nearly three hours of content... and yes, as some of you had feared, we have a slight echo in the new Astronomicon. We will have that fixed before next episode though and it isn't terrible. This episode we are discussing the "Pillars" of the Warhammer 40k Hobby. These are the components that, in our mind, make up the hobby as Games Workshop sees it. It's an episode full of opinions and deeper thoughts. We hope you enjoy! We then take a look and give our opinions on a recent New York Times article titled "In praise of mediocrity". An interesting article about hobbies and what drives us. We hope you enjoy the show! Episode 175 of The Independent Characters brings you over three hours of entertainment for your earholes! After our standard Hobby Progress section, we spend some time discussing Chapter Approved 2017 - and where we think and hope it would go in 2018. Adan did a lot of research on this one so you are in for a treat. We then have a couple of interview for you that we think you might enjoy. Last, but certainly not least, after the final music we have an hour long interview with Black Library Author (and all around gentleman) John French. Episode 174 of The Independent Characters compares two of Games Workshops skirmish game offerings. It's Necromunda vs Kill Team! A lot of discussion has revolved around whether or not Games Workshop has made the right decision in releasing another skirmish game. Is there enough room for both of these games in the 40k Universe? We discuss the ins and outs of both of these games, their systems, and how they are released and give you our final opinions on what GW has done right, and wrong. Carl is joined again by Jody and Austin as guest hosts as we take a deep dive beneath the hive cities of Necromunda and wage war across the tight confines of Kill Team. Don't forget, if you are looking for the best surface to play your Kill Team Encounters on - you can find them at Tablewar.com where their new Kill Team sized mats will blow you away. Use the Tablewar code for The Independent Characters (IC201808) in the month of August for a further 10% off your order! We hope you enjoy the show! Time Stamps:

Episode 173 of The Independent Characters introduce a new guest host, Austin! Carl met Austin at Adepticon just before he moved to the area and has already become a fantastic member of our gaming group. So after we introduce you to Austin, we have Jody and Josh join as well for a long Warrior Lodge episode. For those who don’t already know, The Warrior Lodge is a moderated discussion around several topics. We get various opinions and thoughts on things related to Games Workshop, Warhammer 40k, and the community in general. This episode was recorded on several different days so I apologize now for some of the disjointed feel of each segment. In a couple of places I reference segments that come later - however, they actually came PRIOR to me mentioning them on the show. Either way… deal with it! The topics and conversations are great. Not only do we have all of that for you, we also include an interview with Joe from Firmer Terra, the makers of The Alpha Gaming Table, as well as Dave Taylor about the current NOVA Open Charitable Foundation raffles going on! We really hope you enjoy what we have for you in Episode 173! Time Stamps:

Episode 172 of The Independent Characters is our Show of Force episode on Deathwatch! We have been unable to schedule time to record for nearly a month so we play a little catch up with each other and see how things have been going on the hobbby front before moving into our lengthy coverage of The Deathwatch. After that, we have a short interview with CK Studios to hear how their trip to the UK (and Warhammer World of course!) went, as well as the class they taught there. We hope you enjoy the show! After a lengthy Hobby Progress section we will move into a discussion about Adepticon 2018. This is followed up by three separate interviews. Episode 169 of The Independent Characters continues our four part series looking into each of the Chaos Gods. This episode, we are covering Slaanesh. While this Chaos Gods future is somewhat up in the air at the moment, we have high hopes that GW will embrace the deity for all it is worth, and in all aspects. We think you will enjoy this Chaos Resurgent episode! We also include in this episode two different interviews. One interview is with Colin Ward, from Legalized Mischief Productions and the other is from Kat & Caleb of CK Studios. We think there is some great information in both of these pieces. We really hope you enjoy what we have for you in Episode 169! Time Stamps:

Episode 167 of The Independent Characters brings you about two and a half hours of overdue entertainment! This episode we are focusing on our new four part series; Chaos Resurgent. In this series we will discuss all aspects of each of the four Chaos Gods. To get us started we have Nurgle. We will do a 'Deep Dive' into all things Nurgle, from the concept of the God themselves, all the way to their worshippers and how they are best represented on the tables of Warhammer 40,000. The episode is well overdue as a result of Carl getting quite sick over the last few weeks. But we are back in action and back on target. We have already laid out plans for our next episode.
